WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University earned its second straight volleyball win of the week with 3-2 non-league victory over Washington (Md.).
Shenandoah (3-2) was a 15-25, 25-22, 25-16, 23-25, 15-12 victor over the Shoremen (6-2).
Washington had come into the day with a six-match winning streak.
In the decisive fifth set, the Hornets rallied from a 8-5 deficit at the changeover to seize the victory.
SU began its comeback with a Rachel Maki kill off of a Brooke Strathy assist and then cut it to 9-8 thanks to a Kelcy Brown kill followed by a WC attack error.
Following a service error, Mary Harshman drove home a Brown set to earn back the serve.
Shenandoah took the lead for good coming out of a Washington timeout on a pair of Maki service aces.
SU clinched the match on a Shoremen attack error.
Mary Harshman paced the victors with 13 kills with Haley Smith adding 11.
Jenny Lee had 18 for Washington.
