YORK, Pa. - Host York (Pa.) halted Shenandoah University's field hockey winning streak at two games with a 3-0 non-league victory Thursday afternoon.
The Spartans (4-1) scored in the 26th, 31st and 44th minutes to send SU (3-4) down to defeat for the first time in three games.
YCP turned in a solid defensive effort against the Hornets, holding Shenandoah to four shots and five penalty corners on the afternoon.
The Spartans had 11 of their 20 shots in the first half and earned nine penalty corners.
SU keeper Sarah Clare had five saves in the losing effort.
Shenandoah is off until taking on Frostburg State in Frostburg, Maryland next Friday at 5:30 p.m.
