FROSTBURG, Md. - Host Frostburg State University scored a pair of quick goals to start the second half Friday afternoon in a 4-0 non-conference victory over Shenandoah.
Frostburg (2-7) snaps a seven-match losing streak with the victory over SU (3-5).
Becky Rendel had what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 28th minute before FSU scored twice in the first 100 seconds of the second half.
The Hornets outshot Frostburg 20-17, but Bobcats goalkeeper Maggie Edwards made nine saves to earn the shutout.
SU goalie Sarah Clare had 10 stops in the losing effort.
Shenandoah also had an 8-5 advantage in penalty corners.
The Hornets ODAC play Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. with a home game against Virginia Wesleyan. The contest is the first ODAC game in school history.
