FREDERICK, Md. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team earned its third straight win of the 2011 season Thursday afternoon with a 3-0 non-league victory over Hood College.
Senior Jessi Dennis tallied the first two goals of the game for the Hornets (4-2) with Kelly Miles closing the book on day's scoring with a goal off a Keri Johnson assist in the 34th minute.
Dennis got SU on the board in the 19th minute by finishing off a Hana ElFallah assist before Miles set her up for an insurance goal at 27:15.
Shenandoah was dominant defensively, outshooting the Blazers 16-4 for the game and taking four of six corner kicks awarded.
Keepers Kat Terza and Alyssa Plourde combined to make four saves – Terza had one in playing the first 45 minutes before turning it over to Plourde at the break.
Hood falls to 1-3 with the loss.
Shenandoah returns to the pitch on Monday with a 4:00 home match against future ODAC foe Virginia Wesleyan.
