Lynchburg Wins Hornets Women's Soccer Battle

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Nationally ranked Lynchburg College maintained its spot at the top of the ODAC standings with a 5-1 women's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

The LC Hornets (15-0-3, 8-0-3 ODAC) scored the initial three goals of the game to coast past SU (7-10-1, 5-5-1).

Angela Bosco scored unassisted in the 10th minute before Dessi Dupuy tallied in the 23rd and 26th minutes to give Lynchburg all of the offense it would need.

Freshman Harmon Hall put Shenandoah on the board in the 31st minute by converting a feed from Brittany Mason.

Bosco completed the first half scoring with a goal in the 43rd minute before Dupuy closed the book on the day's scoring with an unassisted tally in the 63rd minute.

Lynchburg outshot SU 33-6 and had nine of the game's 13 corner kicks.

Nichole Pratt had nine saves and Nicole Gilbertson one for Shenandoah.

The SU Hornets are back in action at Hollins on Tuesday in the ODAC regular season finale.
