CARLISLE, Pa. – Shenandoah University earned its first field hockey victory of the season Saturday afternoon with a 4-3 overtime win at Dickinson.
Freshman Sarah Brock tallied 7:47 into the extra session to give the Hornets (1-1) the victory over Dickinson (0-1).
SU jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Tori Finney and Sarah DeLuca only to see the Red Devils storm back with three goals to take a one-goal lead three minutes prior to halftime.
DeLuca brought the game back to level with an unassisted goal in the 44th minute, setting Brock up to play the hero.
DC outshot the Hornets 25-17, including 6-2 in OT, and took 14 of 16 penalty corners.
Sarah Clare had 11 saves, four in the OT alone, to earn the win.
Shenandoah hosts Hood on Tuesday at 4 in a non-league match.
