FREDERICK, Md. - Host Hood College made an early goal stand up in a 1-0 non-league men's soccer victory over Shenandoah University Tuesday afternoon.
Shenandoah (2-4) dominated play against the Blazers (2-0-2), but it was Hood that scored the game's lone goal on a David Langan tally in the eighth minute.
SU had a 22-6 advantage in shots, including 8-2 on goal, but could not find the equalizer.
HC keeper Ryan Deuber made eight saves to post the shutout.
Hood also was awarded four of the six corner kicks.
James Dutcher made one stop for the Hornets.
Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday in its first-ever ODAC game. The Hornets host Virginia Wesleyan in an 11 a.m. contest on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf.
