WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Roanoke College scored single goals in each half to top Shenandoah University 2-0 in ODAC women's soccer action Friday evening.
The ODAC contest was the first in program history for SU (2-5, 0-1 ODAC).
Rebekah Adams scored both goals for the Maroons (3-2, 2-0).
In the 20th minute, she converted a Carmen Graves cross before scoring unassisted in the 51st.
The contest was a physical one with SU assessed seven cards, including three red, and 21 fouls.
The Hornets played the final 10:18 down two players.
Roanoke had a 15-6 advantage in shots while Shenandoah took both of the game's corners.
Kristen Barrickman had five saves in 79:42 of action and Nichole Pratt three in the final 10:18.
Carolyn Sarbacher made two saves in posting the shutout.
SU hosts Bridgewater on Wednesday night at 7.
