LYNCHBURG, Va. – No. 20 Lynchburg kept its four-year ODAC unbeaten streak alive Saturday afternoon with a 4-0 league victory over Shenandoah.
The LC Hornets (6-2, 2-0 ODAC) took a 1-0 lead into the break against SU (5-4, 0-1) and pulled away in the second thanks to two goals in a 25-second span.
Lindsay Leonard scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 21st minute off of an assist from Kelsey Link.
Ashley Nelson then erased all doubt by scoring goals at 36:59 and 37:24 to start the second.
Lynchburg outshot Shenandoah 44-0, including 25-0 in the second. LC all had all 14 of the game's penalty corners.
Goalkeeper Sarah Clare had a third-best-in-school-history 21 saves in the losing effort. The 21 stops ties Wendy Taylor '07 for No. 3 all-time. The school record for saves in a game is 24.
The SU Hornets host Bridgewater Tuesday night at 7 in another ODAC contest.
