WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first-ever ODAC women's soccer victory with a 9-0 triumph over Sweet Briar Saturday afternoon.
The Hornets (3-5, 1-1-1 ODAC) scored their initial goal just 2:33 into the contest and never looked back against the Vixens (0-6, 0-4).
Stormie Malik tallied that first goal off of an assist from freshman Danielle Burris.
SU added to its lead with goals in the seventh, eighth, 33rd and 45th minutes to take a 5-0 lead into the break.
Coach Liz Pike's club kept up the pressure in the second half, pumping in goals in the 57th, 64th, 67th and 72nd minutes to provide the final margin of victory.
Ten different women placed their name in the scoresheet with Missy Volonino registering two goals and one assist and Burris one goal and two assists.
Shenandoah outshot SBC 36-0 and took all five of the game's corner kicks.
Goalkeepers Nicole Pratt and Kristen Barrickman did not have to make a save in posting the shared shutout.
SU is back in action on Wednesday at Virginia Wesleyan.
