ALTOONA, Pa. - Shenandoah University kept its volleyball record perfect on the season with a 3-2 victory over Penn State - Altoona Tuesday evening.
The Hornets were 25-20, 24-26, 25-22, 19-25, 15-13 winners over the Lions.
Senior Mary Harshman paced SU with 11 kills while freshman Blake Parkes added nine and both Haley Smith and Samantha Schambach eight.
Senior Kelcy Brown had a match-high 30 assists to move within eight assists of tying the school career record. Brown now has 2048 assists in 354 sets.
Parkes backed up Brown with 15 assists.
Sophomore Nicole Mueller and Harshman led the defense with 15 and 11 digs, respectively.
Finally, senior Megan Gillispie had a solid all-around match with six kills, six service aces and nine digs.
Shenandoah is opens up its home slate on Thursday night at 7:00 against former USA South foe Mary Baldwin.
