WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 21 Roanoke used a strong second half to key a 4-0 ODAC men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Wednesday night on the Sprint Field at Shentel Stadium turf.
The Maroons (8-1, 4-0 ODAC) poured in three second half goals, but it was Marc Dinkel's tally in the 35th minute that was the game-winner over the Hornets (0-10, 0-3).
Dinkel ripped his 25-yard shot near post on SU keeper Rodrigo Casteriana, who had no chance on the shot.
Casteriana kept his side in it with 11 saves, including eight in the first half.
RC added to its lead with goals in the 63rd, 66th and 82nd minutes.
Roanoke held a 33-2 shot advantage and took 15 of the game's 16 corner kicks.
Shenandoah is back in action on Friday night at 7:00 in a home ODAC contest against Lynchburg.
