Lynchburg Shuts Out Men

WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Lynchburg College won the battle of the ODAC men's soccer hornets with a 4-0 victory over Shenandoah Friday evening.

Lynchburg (4-4-2, 2-1-1 ODAC) scored three goals in the first half to pull away from Shenandoah (0-11, 0-4).

Zack Miller scored what proved to be the game-winner when he tapped a Luke Moore cross across the line from right on top of the SU goal.

The hosts had a defender attempt to clear the ball off the line, but could not get to it before the shot got all the way over the by-line.

LC scored goals in the 35th and 44th minutes to take the commanding lead into the half.

The visitors' final goal was scored in the 81st minute.

Lynchburg outshot SU 18-5 and had a 5-3 advantage in corners.

Rodrigo Casteriana made five saves in a little more than 72 minutes of action. Freshman Daniel Martinez played the final 17:58 of game time. He made one save and allowed the final LC goal.

Shenandoah is back in action on Wednesday at Washington and Lee. Game time is 4:30.
