WINCHESTER, Va.- The Shenandoah University volleyball team celebrated its senior day with a 3-0 sweep of Randolph College Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (13-14, 5-6 ODAC) won at 21, 15 and 16 over the WildCats (11-10, 2-8) to make the final ODAC match for seniors Katy Griffith and Haley Smith a victorious one.
The win also means that SU finishes tied for seventh in the league with Bridgewater and will be the eighth seed at the upcoming ODAC Tournament. The Hornets will travel to the tournament's top seed (either Randolph-Macon or Washington and Lee) on November 6 for a quarterfinal round match.
Fittingly, Smith led all players with a co-match-high 10 kills with Griffith posting a second-best-on-team seven digs.
Junior Samantha Schambach, who had a match-high 12 digs, also had the match-clinching kill.
Freshman Jasmine Callahan fueled the offense with 31 assists.
Shenandoah is back at home on Tuesday night in its final home match of the year. The Hornets host Washington Adventist in that 7:30 match.
