WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team saw its five-match ODAC unbeaten streak come to an end today with a 2-0 loss to No. 11 Lynchburg.
The LC Hornets (11-1, 5-0 ODAC) scored goals in the 36th and 52nd minutes to hand the SU Hornets (6-5-1, 4-1-1) their first conference loss of the season.
Daisy Thomas tallied the game-winner at 35:34 when she dribbled in all alone down the right side and ripped her shot off the left post and in.
Shenandoah keeper Erin Septer, who finished with 10 saves and had diving stops in both halves, was only able to get a finger on Thomas' shot.
Lynchburg got its insurance goal in the 52nd minute from Nicole Kopsidas.
The visitors had an 21-4 advantage in shots and took 11 of the game's 12 corners.
SU is at Bridgewater on Wednesday for a 4:00 ODAC contest.
