FROSTBURG, Md. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team split a non-league tri-match Saturday at Frostburg.
Shenandoah (9-11) rebounded from a 3-0 loss to St. Vincent by outlasting the host Bobcats 3-2 in the final match of the day.
Frostburg falls to 3-19 with the loss.
The two teams split the opening two sets, with both scores going 25-18 to the winner, before FSU won the third 25-22. SU then stormed back to win 26-24 in the fourth and 15-12 in the fifth.
Rachel Gross had a team-high 15 kills with Samantha Schambach adding 10.
Rachel Cerretani had 30 assists and Jasmine Callahan 23 to fuel the offense.
Defensively, Taylor Anderson had 19 digs and Schambach 18.
In the opener, St. Vincent won at 23, 20 and 23 over the Hornets.
Gross paced SU with nine kills while Haley Smith added seven with Ashleigh Tanis, Rachel Roberts and Allie Pieper posting three each.
Cerretani and Callahan had 14 and 13 assists, respectively.
Anderson paced the defensive effort with 23 digs.
Shenandoah is back in action at Marymount on Tuesday.
