BRIDGEWATER, Va. - League leading Bridgewater College kept its ODAC record perfect with an 11-2 baseball victory over No. 12/12 Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
The Eagles (14-5, 8-0 ODAC) scored two runs in the first before breaking the game open over SU (14-5, 7-4) with a six-run fourth.
The Hornets had cut the deficit to 3-2 by scoring one run in the third and another in the fourth.
Sophomore Michael Paul paced the visitors with three hits in four at-bats while sophomore Corbin Lucas and freshman John Wilt both had two hits.
Daniel Freshley and J.J. McDaniel had drove in the squad's two runs.
Freshman Billy Arens (2-1) took the loss. He allowed eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits and one walk in 3 2/3 innings of work.
Arens also struck out one.
BC had 16 hits on the day with all nine starters getting at least one hit. The top five hitters in the Eagles lineup had a combined 10 hits.
Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday in an ODAC doubleheader against Virginia Wesleyan.
