GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Shenandoah University completed its run at the Gettysburg Battlefield Invitational Saturday by splitting its final two matches.
The Hornets (3-1) fell 3-0 to Stevenson in the opening match of the day before coming back to down Mt. St. Mary (N.Y.) 3-1 in the nightcap.
Junior Rachel Gross had a team-high 10 kills in that victory with freshman Jasmine Callahan fueling the offense by posting 27 assists.
Following the completion of play, Callahan was named to the All-Tournament team.
Junior Samantha Schambach and senior Katy Griffith had 15 and 14 digs, respectively, to pace the defensive effort.
SU won that match 25-20, 22-25, 25-12, 25-15.
Stevenson (3-1) won at 12, 10 and 19 in the opener.
Callahan had four kills, seven assists and five digs.
Griffith was the only player to register a double-digit stat line thanks to her 11 digs.
Shenandoah opens up its home slate on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. non-league match against PSU-Altoona.
