Women's Soccer Routs Saints

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team won its second straight game to start the season with a 6-0 win over Marymount Sunday morning.

The Hornets (2-0) got an Allison Shomo goal in the eighth minute and never looked back against the Saints (0-2).

Shomo, a freshman, was set up for her first collegiate goal by classmate Anna Wilson.

In the 37th minute, another freshman, Alysha McCleaf, tallied off a Kati Richardson pass to make it 2-0.

Richardson (off of a Shomo pass), freshman Averi Rosena and sophomore Danielle Burris had the second half goals with Rosena tallying twice.

Burris now has three goals in the squad's first two games.

Shenandoah outshot its visitors 29-3 and took eight of the game's 10 corners.

SU coach Liz Pike played all four of her goalkeepers in the contest with starter Erin Septer only seeing the first 15 minutes of action.

Sophomore Kristen Barrickman, who played just more than 30 minutes, earned the win.

Nicole Pratt and Alyssa Jaghab, who split the second half, finished with one save each.

Shenandoah is back in action on Wednesday in a non-league contest at Gettysburg.
