GETTYSBURG, Pa. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team saw its two-game season-opening winning streak end Wednesday with a 7-0 non-league loss at Gettysburg College.
The Bullets (2-0-1) scored their initial goal in the 33rd minute before tallying three times in a 12-minute span of the second half to pull away from SU (2-1).
Hannah Theurer scored what proved to be the game-winner by one-timing a Molly Phillips cross at 32:50.
GC then scored in the 54th, 58th, 66th, 75th, 78th and 90th minutes to provide the final margin of victory.
Freshman Erin Septer, who played the initial 65:36 in goal, made three saves.
Gettysburg outshot the Hornets 17-6 while the two teams split six corner kicks.
Shenandoah continues this road trip this weekend by participating in the Capital University (Ohio) Tournament. SU plays Denison (Ohio) in addition to the host Crusaders.
