WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Hood College kept the Shenandoah University men's soccer team winless on the season with a 2-1 non-league victory Tuesday evening.
Hood (2-3) broke a tie game with a Drew Demich unassisted goal in the 59th minute to give the Blazers the one-goal victory over SU (0-7).
Shenandoah had brought the game back to level on an Eduardo Santiago tally at 29:07.
Freshman Tommy Scott fed Santiago the ball to start the scoring rush and Santiago knocked his shot from 10-yards out to make it 1-1.
HC had taken its initial lead in the 21st minute before Santiago answered in the 30th minute.
SU was held without a shot after the Blazers took the 2-1 advantage.
Hood outshot its hosts 15-5 and had an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Rodrigo Casteriana made seven saves in the losing effort and Jake Heeren had a defensive save.
Shenandoah completes its non-conference slate on Saturday with a 1:00 game at Cairn.
