OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Shenandoah University women's volleyball team completed its non-conference tri-match Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 loss to Susquehanna.
Susquehanna (13-2) was victorious at 20, 17, and 12 over the Hornets (6-8).
The two teams battled back and forth in the opening set, with eight ties and three lead changes, before the Crusaders pulled away.
The second brought more of the same, with five ties, but once Susquehanna took the lead in this set, it never looked back.
This momentum carried over to the third as the Crusaders controlled the set virtually from the outset.
Junior Rachel Gross paced Shenandoah with seven kills while freshman Rachel Roberts added five.
Taylor Anderson had 13 digs and Jasmine Callahan 11 to lead the defense.
The Hornets return to ODAC play with a Tuesday match at Hollins.
