ROANOKE, Va. – Shenandoah University earned its first ODAC volleyball victory of the season with a 3-1 win Tuesday night at Hollins.
Shenandoah (7-8, 1-3 ODAC) won the opening two sets at 18 and 23 before Hollins (2-12, 1-4) cut the deficit in half with a 25-23 victory in the third.
Coach Jaime Terenzi's club then closed out the match with a 25-20 triumph in the fourth.
Senior Haley Smith paced SU to the victory by posting a team-high 14 kills with junior Rachel Gross adding 11.
Shenandoah hit .226 for the match, including .281 in both the first and fourth sets.
Jasmine Callahan had a match-high 36 assists with Taylor Anderson anchoring the defense with 22 digs.
Samantha Schamnbach had 15 digs and Katy Griffith 13 to back up Anderson.
Lauren Hays had a match-high 15 kills for HU.
SU continues ODAC play with a Saturday match at Guilford. The Hornets face Piedmont in addition to the host Quakers in the tri-match.
