HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. – Host Hampden-Sydney used a strong second half to key a 4-0 ODAC men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday night.
The Tigers (4-3-1, 1-1 ODAC) scored three of their four goals after the break to pull away from Shenandoah (0-9, 0-2).
Bryan Talbert scored what proved to be the game-winning goal by converting a penalty kick in the 40th minute.
H-SC then scored goals in the 49th, 54th and 73rd minutes to provide the final margin of victory.
The Tigers outshot SU 25-4, including 13-1 in the first half.
The victors also owned a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Hornets keeper Rodrigo Casteriana had eight saves in the losing effort.
Shenandoah is back home on Wednesday evening with a 7:00 ODAC contest against Roanoke.
