LEXINGTON, Va. – Defending champion Washington and Lee kept its ODAC volleyball record perfect on the season with a 3-0 sweep over Shenandoah Wednesday evening.
The Generals (17-1, 5-0 ODAC) won at 18, 9 and 19 over SU (10-7, 3-2).
The Hornets jumped out to a 7-5 lead in the opening set only to see W&L score eight of the next 15 points in the set to take control.
Shenandoah held an early lead in the second set as well before the Generals asserted control, this time on a 13-2 run, to coast home to comfortable win.
Washington & Lee led throughout the third.
Elizabeth Lamont and Allie Pieper paced SU with five kills each while Blake Parkes and Rachel Gross each added four.
Jasmine Callahan set up that quartet with 16 assists.
Brandi Griffith had 14 digs and Callahan 11 to lead the defense.
Shenandoah continues this road trip on Saturday with a non-league tri-match at Mount Aloysius. In addition to the host Mounties, SU will take on Alfred (N.Y.) State.
