GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team earned its fifth ODAC victory of the season with a 3-0 shutout at Guilford Saturday afternoon.
Shenandoah (5-8-1, 5-3 ODAC) got a pair of goals from sophomore Catherine Major to push past Guilford (1-12-1, 1-6).
Major scored off of a Carly Ferguson assist in the 28th minute before netting an insurance goal thanks to an Alysha McCleaf feed at 37:56.
Sophomore Jennifer Nguyen then closed the book on the day's scoring by knocking one home from the middle of the 18-yard box.
Junior Danielle Burris set Nguyen up on the goal.
The Hornets' outshot the Quakers, 20-6, while holding the narrow edge on corner kicks, 5-3.
SU played all three goalkeepers in the contest. Sophomore Erin Septer stopped two shots before being replaced by Nicole Pratt to start the second. Freshman Rebecca Angerome relieved Pratt for the final 9:24.
Shenandoah hosts Bridgewater on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in another ODAC contest.
