Merritt tallied the game-winner thanks to a Sarah Brock assist.
SU outshot the Maroons 14-10 while RC took nine of the game's 17 penalty corners.
Hornets goalkeeper Jenna Rampale made four saves.
Shenandoah completes its regular season on Wednesday with a 4:00 ODAC contest against Eastern Mennonite.
