WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Hampden-Sydney earned a 2-1 ODAC men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday night with an overtime goal.
Shenandoah (4-12-1, 1-8-1 ODAC) scored the game's opening goal in the 8th minute on an Eduardo Santiago to Gerard Talbot-Paul tally only to see Hampden-Sydney (10-5-1, 6-3-1) rally.
The Tigers forced overtime with a goal in the 79th minute and then got the game-winner on an own goal.
On a cross in the box, the ball deflected off of a Hornets defender and past SU keeper Matthew Poell for the golden goal.
Hampden-Sydney outshot Shenandoah 21-4 for the contest and had a 4-2 advantage in corners.
Poell made 10 saves.
SU completes its season on Wednesday night at 7 with an ODAC contest against Randolph-Macon.
