Lynchburg Shuts Out Women

LYNCHBURG, Va. - No. 4 Lynchburg College used a strong offensive performance to key a 5-0 ODAC women's soccer victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

The LC Hornets (11-0, 6-0 ODAC) scored a pair of goals in the first half and never looked back against Shenandoah (3-8-1, 3-3).

Dessi Dupuy, the 2013 ODAC Player of the Year, scored what proved to be the game-winner in the 8th minute when she finished off a Jade Woll cross right in front.

LC scored again in the 43rd minute before tallying in the 46th, 52nd and 76th minutes to provide the final margin of victory.

Lynchburg took 25 of the game's 31 shots and all seven corners.

Shenandoah goalkeepers Erin Septer and Nicole Pratt combined for seven saves.

Septer had two stops in the first half and Pratt five in the second.

SU is back in action at home on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. in an ODAC contest versus Eastern Mennonite.
