NEW YORK, N.Y. – Host Lehman College used a big run midway through the second half on its way to a 57-49 victory over Shenandoah in the opening round of the Coaches versus Cancer women's basketball tournament Monday afternoon.

With the score tied at 32-32 following a Sarah Dixon 3-pointer for the Hornets (5-4), Lehman (7-3) proceeded to score the game's next 10 points over a span of 4:08 to seize control of the contest.

Shenandoah was able to cut the deficit to four points, 46-42, following an Ashley McGhee 3-pointer at 4:51, but would get no closer.

The Lightning closed out the victory by scoring 11 of the final 18 points of the game.

This second half run ended a contest that featured 11 lead changes and nine ties.

SU, which was led by senior Holly Chittenden's 13 points and 13 rebounds, last held the lead at the 17:02 mark of the second following a pair of Breya Wallace free throws.

Those two points capped a 6-3 spurt that included a Kirstyn Arcata jumper and a Chittenden layup.

Arcata backed up Chittenden with 10 points and 11 rebounds with Wallace posting six assists.

Arcata's double-double is the first of her career while Chittenden now has three double-doubles this season and 19 for her career.

Lehman advances to Tuesday's championship game versus Adrian (Mich.) beginning at 2 p.m. with SU taking on Kean (N.J.) in the noon consolation contest.
