LYNCHBURG, Va. - Host Lynchburg College forced Shenandoah into a cold shooting performance on its way to a 74-28 ODAC women's basketball victory Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (5-2, 1-1 ODAC) shot just 21 percent from the field (10 for 48) and committed 28 turnovers in the loss to the pre-season favorite LC Hornets (5-2, 2-0).

Lynchburg scored 28 points off of those SU miscues as it broke open the contest with a 18-0 run that sandwiched the halftime break.

Trailing by just seven, 20-13, following a Holly Chittenden free throw with 5:00 remaining in the first, Shenandoah was held scoreless over the next 7:25 of game time.

By the time that sophomore Erin French hit the first of her two consecutive jumpers at 17:35 of the second, the Lynchburg lead had grown from seven to 23 points.

Following French's second bucket, at 17:09, LC reeled off a 14-4 run over the next 7:58 to push its advantage out to 31.

The hosts then scored 22 of the game's final 29 points to provide the final margin of victory.

French paced SU with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Caroline Naumann had a game-high 14 points for Lynchburg.

LC outrebounded Shenandoah 47-28 to fuel a 17-2 advantage in second chance points.

Lynchburg scored 42 of the game's 52 points from the paint.

SU completes its pre-Christmas schedule on Monday with 7 p.m. non-league home game versus Gettysburg.
