WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 18/RV Shenandoah University saw its six-game baseball winning streak come to an end Friday with an 11-10 non-league loss to Penn St. – Altoona.
PSU-A (4-9) scored the game-winning run on a Jordan Swope single through the left side in the top of the ninth.
Swope single off of junior Matt Riegler (1-1) brought home right fielder Tyler Pastor, who had reached on a one-out single to center.
The winning run was unearned as Riegler committed a throwing error on a Dan Bier comebacker that allowed Pastor to advance to second.
Following a strikeout, Swope threaded in the single for the go-ahead run.
