VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - No. 19/26 Shenandoah University completed an undefeated baseball week with a 21-5 ODAC victory at Virginia Wesleyan Sunday afternoon.

Shenandoah (18-4, 10-1 ODAC) scored 10 runs in the first three innings and never looked back against VWC (9-16, 3-7).

Game time was 3:50 and since the contest did not start until 3 p.m., game two was postponed.

The Hornets banged out 23 hits in the victory over the Marlins, including at least one by all nine starters.

Junior Michael Paul, the two-time ODAC Player of the Week, led the attack with a 4 for 7 day that included four RBI and two runs scored.

His hitting streak now stands at 24 games.

The top four hitters in the SU lineup were a combined 9 for 19 with eight runs scored and eight RBI.

Sophomore Darrell Thompson (5-1) struck out nine and allowed three runs on seven hits and three walks in 7.0 innings to earn the victory.

He turned it over to senior Cody Vorous for the final six outs. Vorous struck out three.

Leading 2-1 after two, Shenandoah put the game away with an eight-run third. Coach Kevin Anderson's club sent 14 men to the plate in the frame with Paul and Andrew Creamer both getting two hits each.

Creamer had a three-run triple in his first at-bat and a single through the right side in his second turn.

Paul, after lacing a single up the middle in his first time up, drove in two runs with another single in his second time up.

Catcher Daniel Freshley was 3 for 5 with four RBI, three of which came on a three-run HR in the fifth.

Shenandoah is back in action on Tuesday at Bridgewater.
