Men's Soccer Wins First

RADNOR, Pa. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team completed its participation in the 2014 Cabrini Tournament with a 3-0 victory over Penn State - Brandywine Saturday afternoon.

The win for Shenandoah (1-1) snaps a 21-game losing streak dating back to 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon on October 16, 2012.

Freshmen Jake Keiser and Kevin Kokolis provided all of the offense in the win with the duo netting two goals in a span of 130 seconds midway through the first half.

Keiser got matters started by finishing off a Caleb Baxter feed at 27:04 before Koklis scored unassisted at 29:14.

With 9:15 to play, Keiser closed the book on the day's scoring with an unassisted tally.

Goalkeeper Matthew Poell, another freshman, made three saves to post his first career shutout.

The Hornets took 14 of the game's 21 shots and owned a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks.

PSU-Brandywine falls to 0-2 with the loss.

Keiser and classmate Loudon Phillips were both named to the All-Tournament team.

SU is back in action on Wednesday with a 4:30 non-league contest at Hood.
