Seahawks Shut Out Hockey

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Host St. Mary's of Maryland scored single goals in each half on its way to a 2-0 non-league field hockey victory over Shenandoah Thursday afternoon.

The 'Hawks (3-1) scored four minutes into each half and then held off a determined Shenandoah (2-3) attack.

The Hornets had 14 shots in the contest and owned a 13-9 advantage in penalty corners, but could not find the back of the SMCM net.

SU goalkeeper Jenna Rampale had seven saves in the losing effort.

Shenandoah is back in action on Sunday at No. 18 Mary Washington. Game time is 1 p.m.
