OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team snapped its three-match losing streak Saturday night with a 3-1 non-league victory over Stevenson.

The Hornets (3-4) won for the first time in the past four outings with the road victory over Stevenson (5-3).

Senior Ashley Cross had both Shenandoah goals in the first half, scoring unassisted in the 7th minute before converting a feed from junior Presha Merritt three minutes later.

After the Mustangs cut the deficit in half with a tally in the 38th minute, junior Sarah Brock gave the victors some breathing room with an unassisted goal at 55:37.

Freshman Jenna Rampale made five saves in the winning effort.
