WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team continued its winning ways Saturday morning with an ODAC sweep of Eastern Mennonite.
The Hornets (10-4, 3-0 ODAC) won at 16, 6 and 20 over EMU (5-11, 0-3).
Shenandoah was dominant in match, taking just 64 minutes to close out the Royals.
SU jumped out to a 16-3 lead in the opening set before scoring 24 of the first 28 points in the second.
The third was the closest set, as Eastern Mennonite held a lead as late as 18-17 before an Elizabeth Lamont kill followed by two from Kaitlyn Kelley gave the Hornets the lead for good.
Senior Rachel Gross closed out the match with her eighth kill of the morning.
Kelley led all players with nine kills while Lamont matched Gross with eight.
SU hit .322 for the match.
Brandi Griffith paced the defense with a match-high 14 digs.
The Hornets are back in action on Wednesday night at 7 in a non-league match versus Marymount.
