Men's Soccer Ties Wasps

EMORY, Va. – For the second straight contest, the Shenandoah University men's soccer team battled for 110 minutes versus an ODAC opponent without determining a winner.

Shenandoah (4-5-2, 1-2-2 ODAC) scored the first and third goals of the evening in a 2-2 draw at Emory and Henry (4-4-3, 2-2-2) Saturday evening.

The tie is the second for the Hornets versus the Wasps in four lifetime ODAC contests.

Nick Seymour scored the opening goal of the game, tallying off of a Jonathan Mitchell assist in the 9th minute before E&H brought the game back to level just more than three minutes later.

Jake Keiser's unassisted goal put SU back on top in the 22nd minute, where the Hornets stayed until the Wasps tied it for a second time with 10:09 to play.

The two teams split eight shots in the 20 minutes of extra time.

E&H outshot Shenandoah 28-23 with the Hornets holding a 10-7 advantage in shots on goal.

The Wasps won four of the game's seven corners.

SU goalkeeper Keegan Fairchild had four saves with Wasps keeper Didier Grillet turning away eight shots.

The men continue this road trip with a 6 p.m. ODAC game Monday evening at Virginia Wesleyan.
