ASHLAND, Va. - League-leading Randolph-Macon kept its perfect ODAC volleyball record intact Wednesday evening with a 3-0 sweep over visiting Shenandoah.
The Yellow Jackets (16-3, 7-0 ODAC) earned the sweep with 25-12, 28-26 and 25-14 victories over SU (12-9, 3-4).
Shenandoah had a 26-25 lead in the second, but gave up a Colleen Beaver kill to lose the serve and then saw the 'Jackets steal the win with a Katie Rossberg kill followed by a bad set called on the Hornets.
Elizabeth Lamont led SU with seven kills with Blake Parkes and Kaitlyn Kelley adding six each and Rachel Roberts five.
Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan had 13 and 11 assists, respectively.
Lamont, with 16 digs, led the defensive effort. Libero Brandi Griffith backed her up with 13.
Shenandoah returns home Friday night for a 7 p.m. ODAC match versus Eastern Mennonite. The match is the first of two for SU on the weekend - coach Jaime Terenzi's club also hosts Bridgewater Saturday morning at 11.
