WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team matched its ODAC win total from last season thanks to a 3-0 sweep over Eastern Mennonite Friday evening.
The Hornets (13-9, 4-4) won at 21, 14 and 21 over Eastern Mennonite (9-10, 2-6).
The victory puts SU into a fifth place tie with Emory and Henry in the league race with just three league matches remaining.
The eight-team conference tournament begins on November 4.
Shenandoah had a solid hitting night Friday against EMU, posting a .376 average with 42 kills against just seven errors in 93 attempts.
In the second, coach Jaime Terenzi's club hit .433 with 14 kills in 30 attempts and had just one error.
Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan set up this strong showing with 24 and 14 assists, respectively.
Allie Pieper and Caylin Harris paced the victors with eight kills each while Kaitlyn Kelley added seven and Elizabeth Lamont five.
In addition to her five kills, Lamont added five service aces and 10 digs.
The Hornets are right back at it tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. in an ODAC matchup versus Bridgewater.
