WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team extended its unbeaten streak to three matches Friday night with a 3-2 ODAC victory over Guilford.
Shenandoah (5-6-2, 2-3-2 ODAC) has clinched its best-ever ODAC record with the win over Guilford (5-8, 2-5).
Nick Strait scored the opening goal of the game for SU, tallying off of a Nick Seymour assist in the ninth minute.
After the Quakers brought the game back to level in the 34th minute, junior Nate Long put the Hornets on top to stay by finishing off a Matt Sweeney assist at 39:43.
Tylor Strozeski, off of a Gerard Talbot-Paul assist, scored what appeared to be an insurance goal at 63:30.
With just five seconds to play, Strozeski's goal became the game-winner as Omar Solis scored unassisted for GC.
Guilford outshot SU 11-9 and had a 5-3 advantage in corners, but Hornets keeper Keegan Fairchild had seven saves to earn his first collegiate victory.
Shenandoah travels to Washington & Lee Wednesday afternoon for a 3 p.m. ODAC contest.
