EMORY, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's soccer team recorded its sixth straight shutout Sunday in a 3-0 ODAC victory at Emory and Henry.

Shenandoah (9-6, 6-1 ODAC) won for the second time in 22 hours, and the third time this week, with the shutout victory over the Wasps (3-10-2, 1-6-1).

SU has not allowed a goal in the past 698:12 of game time and has nine shutouts this season.

During the current six-match winning streak, the Hornets have outscored opponents 17-0.

Junior Jennifer Nguyen had the game-winning goal, scoring unassisted in the 24th minute.

Senior Danielle Burris had the final two goals, scoring off feeds from Taylor Potter in the 38th minute and Dornesha Cottoms in the 57th.

Burris has four goals on the week, including the game-winner in a 1-0 victory over No. 21 Washington and Lee Wednesday afternoon.

Coach Liz Pike's club was dominant again Sunday, outshooting its hosts 22-2 and taking eight of the game's nine corners.

Both of the Wasps shots came in the final two minutes of the contest.

Goalkeepers Erin Septer and Nicole Pratt did not have to make a save in sharing the shutout. Septer played the initial 75:27 before giving way to Pratt.

"It was a difficult weekend with back-to-back games, but we stayed focused," Pike said. "The travel made this even more difficult, but the team came to play.

"Danielle (Burris) killed it today and Lizzy (Elizabeth Bellido) did a great job in controlling the middle of the field."

Shenandoah is back in action Tuesday afternoon at Eastern Mennonite in a 4 p.m. ODAC contest.
