FREDERICK, Md. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team clinched a winning season Wednesday night with a 3-0 non-league victory over Hood College.
The 3-0 win is the second this season for SU (15-9) over Hood (13-12).
After winning 26-24 in the opening set, coach Jaime Terenzi's club won at 19 and 16 in the second and third to complete the sweep.
The squad's 15th win this season means that SU will finish above .500 for the second consecutive year and for the fourth time in Terenzi's six seasons as the Hornets head coach.
Shenandoah hit .273 on the night, including .333 in a third set in which the squad had 13 kills against just three errors in 30 attempts.
Sophomore Anna Gallup had a match-high 13 kills with senior Allie Pieper adding 13.
Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan had 17 and 13 assists, respectively, with Brandi Griffith posting 15 of the squad's 49 digs.
Pieper and Rachel Roberts both had four block assists.
The Hornets continue this road trip on Saturday with a tri-match at Emory and Henry. In addition to the ODAC match up against the Wasps, SU will also take on Bluefield in a non-league contest.
A win over E&H will clinch the fifth seed for the Hornets in the upcoming ODAC Tournament.
