EMORY, Va. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team headed into his final week of the regular season by sweeping a tri-match at Emory and Henry.
Coach Jaime Terenzi's club clinched the fifth seed at the upcoming ODAC Tournament with a 3-1 ODAC win over the host Wasps before completing the day with a 3-2 non-league win over Bluefield.
Shenandoah (17-9, 6-4 ODAC) also exceeded last year's win total with the 25-20, 25-19, 24-26, 25-14 victory over Emory and Henry (12-13, 4-6) in the opening match.
With one league match to play, on Thursday at home versus Hollins, the Hornets have clinched a spot in the eight-team ODAC Tournament and will most likely face Roanoke in the quarterfinal round.
Seniors Allie Pieper and Blake Parkes led SU to the win with 13 and 10 kills, respectively.
Parkes had 10 digs to register the double-double while Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan fueled the attack with 22 and 15 assists.
Brandi Griffith had a team-high 14 digs.
Shenandoah won the opening two sets against Bluefield (12-13) 25-19 and 26-24 only to see the Rams tie it with 25-13 and 25-21 victories in the third and fourth sets.
The Hornets then won 15-8 in the fifth to clinch the victory.
Rachel Roberts had 13 kills, Blake Parkes and Kaitlyn Kelley eight each and Pieper six to lead the offense in the nightcap.
Cerretani had 26 assists and Callahan 17 with Griffith posting 15 digs and Parkes 11.
Shenandoah completes its home schedule on Thursday with that 7 p.m. ODAC match against Hollins.
