Men's Soccer Ties Royals

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team now has a two-match unbeaten streak thanks to a 1-1 ODAC with Eastern Mennonite Wednesday evening.

Shenandoah (4-5-1, 1-2-1 ODAC) netted the game's first goal, as Loudon Phillips set up Nate Long at 81:17, but EMU (3-8-1, 1-2-1) had an answer.

Jake Lind tallied for the Royals at 84:34 off a Juan Luna assist, sending the game into sudden victory overtime.

Eastern Mennonite took nine of the 10 shots in the two, 10-minute periods, but Hornets goalkeeper Keegan Fairchild posted three of his eight saves in the extra time to preserve the tie.

EMU, thanks in large part to that 9-1 advantage in OT, had a 23-12 bulge in shots.

Shenandoah took three of the game's five corners.

Daniel Nyce had two saves for the visitors.

SU takes to the road this weekend for a 5:30 ODAC contest at Emory and Henry.
