WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's tennis team extended its winning streak to four matches Saturday afternoon with an 8-1 ODAC victory over Lynchburg.

Shenandoah (10-3, 4-3 ODAC) honored senior Shannon Allin prior to the match and then went out and nearly swept Lynchburg (0-10, 0-7) for the squad's fourth straight win.

Allin combined with Molly Barb to win 8-1 at No. 1 doubles with Amber Lake and Jeannella Williams winning 8-4 at No. 2 and Amy Rapp and Caitlin Tilton 8-0 at No. 3.

SU won the Nos. 2 through 6 singles matches with Rapp's 6-0, 6-0 victory over Jerica Simmons at No. 4 clinching the victory.

Allin and Lake, at Nos. 2 and 6, respectively, matched Rapp's win at love.

Williams, at No. 3, and Tilton, at No. 5, both dropped just one set in winning their matches.

Barb had the only loss, falling 6-2, 4-6, 1-6 at No. 1.

Shenandoah is back in action against Randolph in another ODAC contest later this week. A final date and time for this match will be determined Monday.
