Bridgewater Outlasts Men's Lax

BRIDGEWATER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team completed its road slate Wednesday evening with an 11-8 ODAC loss at Bridgewater.

Bridgewater (6-10, 2-6 ODAC) pulled away from SU (4-11, 0-8) by scoring five of the six third quarter goals.

The two teams entered halftime tied at 3-3 and Shenandoah took its only lead of the game thanks to a Stephen LaTona to Aaron Paul EMO goal 2:23 into the third quarter, but BC had an answer.

The Eagles tied the game at 11:09, starting a 5-0 run to end the third period and tae a lead they would not relinquish.

The Hornets made matters interesting by scoring three of the first four goals of the fourth, but could get no closer than a two-goal deficit.

LaTona led SU with three goals and two assists for five points with Paul adding two goals and Tilghman Sanders three assists.

The Hornets outshot Bridgewater 36-29 with BC holding a 38-35 advantage in groundballs and winning 14 of 22 faceoffs.

Goalkeeper Ben Judy had five saves for the visitors.

Shenandoah completes its season on Saturday with a 2 p.m. game against nationally ranked Lynchburg. Seniors Eric Hobby, Chris Frazier, Aaron Paul and Kyle Shea will be honored prior to the game.
