WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team opened its 2015 season in style Tuesday afternoon, scoring two goals in each half of a 4-0 non-league victory over Wilson College.
Freshman Tylor Strozeski, playing in his first collegiate contest, made that debut special by tallying the opening goal of the contest in the 13th minute.
Sophomore Brian Maye set up what proved to be the game-winning goal.
Cody White had the first of his two goals of the day when he finished off a Strozeski feed a little more than two minutes before halftime.
After the two teams played the initial 34:47 of the second half without scoring, Nate Long and White tallied back-to-back in a span of 5:01 to put the game out of reach.
Loudon Phillips assisted on Long's goal before Long set up White with the final goal of the day.
Mike Skirkanich and Matthew Poell each played 45 minutes to share the shutout.
SU is back in action on Saturday with a 2:30 game against former USA South Conference foe Ferrum.
