Volleyball Drops a Pair

GRANTHAM, Pa. - Shenandoah University dropped a pair of non-league volleyball matches Saturday, losing 3-0 to Messiah and 3-1 to Washington (Md.).

Messiah (7-0) won at 11, 17 and 22 over SU (5-3) in the opening match of the day.

Sophomore Elizabeth Lamont paced the Hornets with seven kills with Blake Parkes adding five and both Rachel Roberts and Allie Pieper posting four.

Jasmine Callahan had 20 of the squad's 24 assists.

Lamont also led defensively with 12 digs. Parkes had eight.

In the Washington College contest, SU was able to win the opening set 25-20 before the Shorewomen swept sets two through four at 18, 19 and 15.

Lamont, Parkes and Kaitlyn Kelley all had nine kills with Roberts and Callahan adding six each.

Callahan had a team-high 28 assists with Lamont again pacing the defense by posting 17 digs.

Brandi Griffith and Callahan backed up Lamont with 15 and 14, digs, respectively.

Shenandoah returns to the court with a Wednesday non-league home match against Gettysburg.
