WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its first ODAC victory of the season with a 2-1 victory over Bridgewater Wednesday evening.
The Hornets (4-5, 1-2 ODAC) snapped their five-match losing streak with the win over Bridgewater (2-5-1, 0-3).
This is the second straight year that SU has defeated the Eagles by a 2-1 score.
Nick Seymour scored both goals for coach Corbin Sutton's squad with the game-winner coming in the 88th minute.
Seymour got the ball along goal line extended, dribbled past two BC players to the front of the goal and tapped his shot into an empty net.
Tylor Strozeski set up Seymour with the initial goal of the game in the 38th minute.
Bridgewater tied it on a Connor Henderson goal in the 53rd minute.
Hornets goalkeeper Matthew Poell had seven saves in the winning effort.
BC outshot SU 15-12 while Shenandoah took five of the game's seven corners.
SU takes to the road this Saturday for an ODAC game at Virginia Wesleyan. Based on the rainstorm forecast for the region, this game could be moved within the Hampton Roads area.
